What to do near Crestone, Colorado
Hot Springs (and dinner options prior to arrival since Crestone’s Cloud Station restaurant closes at 4 pm and grocery closes at 7 pm)
Joyful Journey Hot Springs
On your way from Denver on Hwy 17, 10 minutes north and 22 miles west of us, we recommend stopping here before checking in with us for their “dinner only” or “dinner and a soak” options since the best restaurant in Crestone closes at 4 pm and the market is only open until 7 pm.
During your stay, go for the day or enjoy an 8 am yoga class on Saturday or Sunday, followed by breakfast and a soak, or go after a long day of adventures in Crestone or Salida.
(IMPORTANT: IF you don’t stop on your way in, it’s a 30 minute drive back out from the house after an already long travel days.)
Sand Dunes Swimming Pool
On your way from the south or Sand Dunes, just a half mile off Hwy 17, 10 minutes south and 22 miles west of us, we recommend stopping here before checking in with us for the best dinner option since the best restaurant in Crestone closes at 4 pm and the market is only open until 7 pm.
Pay a small fee to go in the “Greenhouse” in the back and enjoy a delicious steak, fish, or vegetarian gourmet meal from the “Railcar) while you soak after a long day of travel or hiking at the Great Sand Dunes.

Valley View Hot Springs
More of a camping and natural hot springs, this is the local clothing optional hot springs. Reservations are generally requited at least a few weeks in advance.
